Customer Limited Warranty: Casegoods

This Limited Warranty applies to Belle Meade Signature casegoods products that have been purchased from an authorized customer and is extended to the original retail consumer as follows:

Wood and Metal Products

Wood and metal products are warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship when put to ordinary use for a period of one (1) year from the date of invoice.

Marble and Stone Tops

Marble and stone tops are warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship when put to ordinary use for one hundred twenty (120) days from the date of invoice. Due to the absorbent characteristics of genuine marble, Belle Meade Signature does not warrant against stains that occur as a result of spills.

Glass and Mirrors

Glass and mirrors are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship when put to ordinary use for one hundred twenty (120) days from the date of invoice. Chips or scratches that occur from handling after delivery are not the responsibility of Belle Meade Signature.

Customer Limited Warranty: Upholstery

Belle Meade Signature warrants standard catalog upholstery products for one (1) year from the date of invoice against defects in workmanship when put to ordinary use.

This warranty does not cover damage or injury caused by unreasonable or abusive use, failure to provide necessary or reasonable care, accidents, alteration, tampering, or negligence.

Frames and Springs

Belle Meade Signature warrants protection against manufacturing defects of frames and springs for one (1) year from the date of purchase by the retailer, provided the product remains upholstered in the original fabric and is used under normal residential conditions.

Cushions

Belle Meade Signature warrants protection against abnormal loss of resiliency of upholstered furniture cushions for two (2) years, provided the furniture is used under normal wear and other normal residential conditions.

Abnormal wear and abnormal loss of resiliency should not be confused with softening and flattening of foam and fibers, which are considered normal wear and are not defects.

Fabrics

Belle Meade Signature does not guarantee and will not assume responsibility for color fastness or the wearing qualities of any fabric. Any adjustment made will depend on the fabric manufacturer's willingness to stand behind their product.

We cannot be responsible for color variations beyond a reasonable commercial match. If an exact color match is required, a cutting of the fabric (for color) and a photograph (for pattern match) must be submitted with the order.

Belle Meade Signature will not be responsible for fabric that has been treated with a stain-repellent finish by the customer.

Most woven fabrics will show wear due to friction from normal use. Pilling, the formation of small balls of fiber on the surface of fabric, may occur with normal use. The occurrence of pilling depends on several factors including the type of fiber, weave, construction of the fabric, and the type of application the fabric receives.

While Belle Meade Signature tests fabrics for wearability and attempts to identify fabrics that may pill excessively, we cannot determine the exact conditions of use within the home and cannot control the wear furniture will receive.

COM Fabrics / COL Leather

Once COM fabric or COL leather is inspected and accepted, Belle Meade Signature assumes no responsibility for performance, flammability, durability, color fastness, or other quality characteristics once upholstered on a Belle Meade Signature product.

Belle Meade Signature reserves the right to refuse any material deemed unsuitable for upholstery.

Natural Materials & Wood Characteristics

Many Belle Meade Signature products are crafted using solid wood, veneers, natural stone, leather, and other organic materials. These materials possess inherent characteristics that make each piece unique and are not considered manufacturing defects.

Wood is a living material that will naturally respond to changes in environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity. As a result, the following may occur and are considered normal characteristics rather than defects:

  • Expansion and contraction of wood components
  • Minor separation of joints or seams
  • Small cracks, checking, or splitting in wood
  • Variations in grain pattern, texture, and color
  • Natural aging or color changes over time

These characteristics are considered normal and expected behavior of natural materials and are not covered under this warranty.

Environmental Conditions & Proper Care

Belle Meade Signature furniture is designed for normal residential indoor environments.

For optimal performance and longevity, furniture should be maintained in an environment with:

  • Relative humidity between 35% and 55%
  • Stable indoor temperatures
  • Protection from direct sunlight, heat vents, fireplaces, and exterior doors

Extreme or fluctuating environmental conditions may cause:

  • Wood warping or bowing
  • Joint movement or separation
  • Surface cracking or finish damage

Such conditions are outside the control of Belle Meade Signature and are not considered manufacturing defects.

Inspection & Acceptance at Delivery

All products must be carefully inspected at the time of delivery by the receiving party, including the dealer, installer, or end consumer.

Any visible damage, shortages, or defects must be noted on the delivery documentation and reported to Belle Meade Signature or the authorized dealer within seventy-two (72) hours of delivery.

Failure to report visible damage or defects within this timeframe will constitute acceptance of the product as delivered, and such issues will not be considered manufacturing defects covered under this warranty.

Damage resulting from transportation, handling, storage, or installation after delivery is not the responsibility of Belle Meade Signature and is excluded from warranty coverage.

If concealed damage is discovered after delivery, it must be reported within five (5) business days of receipt and must be supported with photographs and documentation for review.

Warranty Administration, Authorizations & Liability Limitations

Technical Deviation & Assumption of Risk

In situations where Belle Meade Signature provides professional structural recommendations and the customer or dealer elects to proceed with an alternative design or construction method, the following conditions apply:

A Technical Deviation & Assumption of Risk acknowledgment must be confirmed in writing by the dealer or customer prior to production.

This acknowledgment confirms that Belle Meade Signature has advised of potential structural risks—including but not limited to warping, bowing, or performance issues due to size, structural limitations, or environmental conditions.

By proceeding with a non-recommended design or construction method, the customer and dealer assume full responsibility for any future repairs or structural issues resulting from that decision.

Any structural warranty related to those risks will be voided.

Third-Party Service Authorization

Belle Meade Signature will not assume responsibility for unauthorized third-party repairs or modifications.

If third-party service is approved, Belle Meade Signature will issue a written Third-Party Service Authorization or Scope of Work (SOW) outlining the approved service.

This authorization will include:

  • A specific scope of work detailing exactly what services are authorized
  • A maximum "Not-to-Exceed" (NTE) dollar amount for the approved work
  • A requirement that any additional work or changes must receive written approval from Belle Meade Signature prior to being performed

Any work performed outside the authorized scope will be the sole responsibility of the dealer or customer.

Warranty Settlement & Final Release

In certain circumstances, Belle Meade Signature may offer a replacement product, repair, or other accommodation as a gesture of goodwill to resolve a warranty claim.

When such a resolution is provided, Belle Meade Signature may require a Warranty Fulfillment & Release of Liability Agreement confirming that:

  • The repair or replacement constitutes the final and complete resolution of the reported claim.
  • The dealer and customer agree to waive any further monetary claims or legal action related to the issue once the resolution is delivered.
  • If product delivery is made to a third-party service provider or installer, Belle Meade Signature's logistical and financial responsibility ends once the product is delivered to that party.

Limit of Liability

Under no circumstances shall the liability of Belle Meade Signature exceed the original purchase price of the product.

Belle Meade Signature shall not be responsible for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including but not limited to installation costs, freight charges, loss of use, or other related expenses unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
